THE EVOLUTION OF RHODIUM DEPOSITS IN THE PLATINUM GROUP METAL ALTERNATIVES
Black and white have always represented the two faces of elegance in jewelry that, until now, has been expressed in rhodium-based galvanic processes.
Berkem’s evolution lies in new process formulations that improve the deposition of precious metals that are rhodium alternatives, but technically and aesthetically comparable: it is a contemporary and innovative approach to galvanic processes, supported by continuous investments in R&D and by the eco-sustainable sensitivity that Berkem translates into its own production choices.
WHITE like PLATINOR® 102 | 104
PLATINOR® is an acidic galvanic solution that permits obtaining deposits of pure platinum, or platinum ruthenium, with characteristics of resistance to both wear and corrosion, thicknesses up to 20 microns, a strong shine, and a white color that remains unchanged over time with color coordinates (color coordinate L* 88.0; a* 0.6; b* 3.5) similar to those of rhodium.
A set of extra value that appeals, first of all to the public, who has always perceived it as a precious metal due to its rarity in nature, and to jewelers, also thanks to its “X Factor,” the ability to “embrace” diamonds and stones more firmly than any other metal, and its natural whiteness, capable of maximizing the brightness of the gems.
BLACK like RUTENOR® 305
The elegance of the ruthenium deposits is due to the versatility of the dark shades that turn from gray to intense black. Contemporary nuances that enhance the brightness of the stones and enhance the boldest designs that evoke mystery, magic, and strength. The peculiarity of the new RUTENOR® 305 formulation lies in the stability of the color and in the simple maintenance of the bath. The ruthenium-based Berkem galvanic processes, RUTENOR®, guarantee extreme ease of management, an excellent decorative effect on any precious metal base, high gloss of the deposit, and excellent resistance to corrosion. These characteristics, together with the brilliant anthracite gray color (color coordinates L* 60,0; a* 0,4; b* 0,8) of the deposit, make RUTENOR® 305 an excellent alternative to black rhodium baths (color coordinates L*65,0; a* 0,5; b* 0,9).
